CEI Project Administrator

Overview

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Project Administrator to oversee transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing transportation projects for local municipalities and/or FDOT. A proven track record on projects with FDOT SCOP, SCRAP, and LAP grant funding is a plus.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for CEI services on FDOT and local agency transportation projects.
• Administer contracts, monitor budgets, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
• Oversee construction inspection teams and maintain compliance with FDOT specifications, standards, and procedures.
• Coordinate with the contractor, Engineer of Record, and project staff to manage submittals, RFIs, and pay applications.
• Manage documentation and reporting requirements for grant-funded projects, including Davis-Bacon wage verification and LAP compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors, FDOT representatives, and local agencies to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
• Review and approve pay estimates, change orders, and project closeout documentation.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CEI inspection and project administration for FDOT or local agencies on transportation projects.
• BS Engineering degree and 3 years CEI experience will be considered in lieu of 5 years’ experience.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT specifications and procedures.
• Familiarity with roadway, drainage, and utility construction practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• FDOT CTQP certifications (Project Administrator, Earthwork, Asphalt, Concrete) required.
• Proficiency in FDOT systems such as Site Manager and other project management tools preferred.
• Fieldwork expected in SW Florida region.
• Driver s license and excellent driving record required.
