This advanced technical lead position is responsible for supporting a broad range of operational, analytical, and administrative functions. The role involves assisting engineers and professional staff. Key responsibilities include compiling and analyzing technical data, preparing reports for internal use and regulatory agencies, supporting project planning and execution, and maintaining accurate records. The position also requires frequent use of computers and specialized software applications for data entry, modeling, work orders, and technical documentation.
Work may also include coordinating with contractors, monitoring budgets, developing cost estimates, and contributing to training or process improvement initiatives. The position requires minimal supervision and demands a high level of accuracy, independence, and professionalism. Work is performed in both office and field environments.

- Monitors, troubleshoots, tests and evaluates protective relays and relay monitoring (Real-Time Automation Control - RTAC) systems for critical plant equipment such as transformers, motors and generators.
- Performs or oversees high-voltage testing of transformers, generators, motors, cables, breakers and other related equipment. Works with Electrical Engineers to interpret and assess test results.
- Investigates and troubleshoots low voltage electrical systems used on our plant controls (12 volt, 24 volt and 125 volt DC systems)
- Facilitates DC battery system testing. Monitors overall health of batteries, chargers, inverters and associated equipment. Maintains test and replacement schedules.
- Works between electricians and electrical engineers on site to troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors and circuit breakers (switch gear). Coordinates repair scope with shops in the case they have to be tested, refurbished, rewound, or replaced.
- Performs air pollution testing, non‑destructive testing, wastewater sampling, quality control testing, performance testing, etc., as required.
- Ensures that tests are performed on a schedule to comply with any requirements for state and federal permits.
- Monitors and compiles daily, monthly, and quarterly environmental air emissions data.
- Coordinates stack emissions testing activities at LE power generation facilities.
- Assists in operating and testing power plant equipment, performing pollution control testing, survey work, and non‑destructive testing programs.
- Collects water, wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, solid waste, and hazardous waste samples in accordance with FDEP Standard Operating Procedures, including CoC completion, calibration, and measurements with applicable field instruments, and proper sampling techniques.
- Uses a multitude of field instruments (such as meggers, leak detection, flow meters, DO meters, pH, etc.).
- Monitors water quality and evaluates data.
- Performs analytical testing as required.
- Performs quality control of field instruments using chemical standards.
- Maintains official on‑site environmental records in an orderly and easily accessible system.
- Records information on the enterprise environmental tracking system.
- Assembles and compiles technical data in various formats for internal analysis and submission to government agencies.
- Develops and administers moderately complex technical construction projects.
- Operates various computer‑aided engineering design programs or tools and produces work orders to support power generation facility construction projects.
- Performs routine manual and CAD drafting.
- Assists in preparing forecasts, studies, technical reports, legal descriptions, memorandums, letters, and related documents.
- Assists in the generation of "Requests for Proposals" or "Bid" packages for simple and complex processes with consideration for practical execution of the "terms and conditions" of the specifications, as well as the technical specifications after award.
