Job DescriptionUHY is seeking experienced FP&A Consultants for project-based and interim engagements in Miami and throughout Florida. Engagement logistics and work arrangement will vary by client; consultants should be prepared to step into active planning, reporting, and decision-support work with limited ramp-up.
The FP&A Consultant will provide hands-on financial planning, modeling, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting support. Projects may include rebuilding budgets and forecasts, developing driver-based models, improving KPI reporting, supporting strategic or transaction analysis, or providing interim FP&A capacity. The consultant should connect financial and operating data, identify key business drivers, communicate implications clearly, and build practical tools the client can continue using.
Key Responsibilities- Own or support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, reforecasts, long-range plans, and scenario analyses, including development of assumptions, financial drivers, and supporting models.
- Build and maintain integrated financial models for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, cash flow, capital needs, profitability, or other key business drivers.
- Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify drivers, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions through clear variance and bridge analysis.
- Develop executive and management reporting packages, KPI scorecards, dashboards, and decision-support analyses that translate financial and operating data into actionable insights.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to improve forecast accuracy, challenge assumptions, evaluate resource allocation, and support operating and strategic decisions.
- Extract, reconcile, and validate data from ERP, planning, and reporting systems; resolve data-quality issues and improve repeatability of planning and reporting processes.
- Support strategic finance projects such as pricing, margin analysis, investment cases, sensitivity analysis, acquisition or integration modeling, portfolio performance analysis, and other ad hoc decision support as engagement needs require.
- Streamline models, reporting calendars, templates, and recurring FP&A workflows through better process design, automation, documentation, and knowledge transfer to the client team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant finance experience with substantial hands‑on FP&A responsibility across budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to build, audit, and improve driver-based forecasts, scenario models, long-range plans, and executive-level decision-support analyses.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize large or imperfect data sets, identify material business drivers, and communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to finance and operating stakeholders.
- Ability to enter an existing planning environment, establish priorities quickly, work independently, and deliver accurate analysis and reporting with limited ramp-up.
- Prior consulting, interim, project-based, advisory, professional-services, staffing, or comparable client-service experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with planning, reporting, and business‑intelligence platforms such as Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle Hyperion/EPM, Planful, Power BI, Tableau, and major ERP environments such as SAP, Oracle, or Net Suite, or comparable systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with finance leaders, business operators, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
