JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator Clinical Students is responsible for the clinical instruction, supervisor, evaluation, orientation, counseling and documentation associated with the clinical experience of the radiology students. Responsible for the production of quality radiographic images through a thorough knowledge of radiologic sciences and patient care. Responsible for the coordination and documentation of educational programs within the department. Acts as a liaison with the hospital's Department of Education.
Acts as Lead Technologist as required or requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the clinical instruction, supervisor, evaluation, orientation, counseling and documentation associated with the clinical experience of the radiology students.
Responsible for the coordination and documentation of educational programs for the departments.
Responsible for radiation monitoring
Participates in Hospital Radiation Safety Committee.
Demonstrates excellent technical skills.
Demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills.
Acts as liaison with hospital's Department of Education. Acts as Lead Technologist as required or requested.
Produces images which demonstrate a thorough knowledge of radiographic technique (collimation, markets, and patient demographics), anatomical positions and equipment performance.
Performs examinations efficiently with repeat rate consistent with department standards.
Follow standard precautions.
Resolves simple informal complaints of staff and refers others to Radiology Administration.
Complies with JCAHO rules and regulations and assists with training of staff.
Demonstrates support and follows policies for the Radiography Student Program.
Provides all aspects of patient care based on established standards. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of patients served; the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatment of the patients.
Participates in the peer interview process; interview and hire.
Demonstrates competency using the Radiographic Information System.
Demonstrates competency using the PACS.
Demonstrates competency in Departmental communication (telephone, pagers, and intercom).
Maintains clean and well stocked work area.
Assists in training and orientation of new employees. Ensures each new employee completed new employee checklists and department orientation.
Strives to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all employees.
Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School or GED required.
Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in an approved school.
ARRT registered in R (Radiology).
Licensed as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of Florida.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Radiography required.
