Job Overview
RN Coordinator Practitioner Excellence – Naples Comprehensive Health – NCH
The RN Coordinator Practitioner Excellence is responsible for supporting and coordinating the Medical Staff Peer Review process. The role works closely with Medical Staff leaders and the Medical Staff Office to provide accurate clinical summaries, data trends, and detailed reports for analysis. The position monitors significant trends, identifies performance improvement opportunities, and oversees all Medical Staff Peer Review meetings.
Responsibilities- Identify cases meeting the criteria for clinical case review and provide preliminary analysis of findings.
- Collect data as specified in the Professional Practice Evaluation (PPE) Policy for aggregation, analysis, and presentation, including annual summaries for the Medical Board.
- Collect data for hospital committees (e.g., Physician Excellence Committee, Hospitalist Quality and Process Improvement Committee) and identify improvement opportunities, creating charts and graphs to communicate trends.
- Maintain a file on each practitioner for tracking and trending variances through the peer review database.
- Create and maintain records of peer review discussions and outcomes.
- Develop close working relationships with Committee Chairpersons and members.
- Follow the Peer Review Process outlined in the Medical Staff PPE Policy and the Medical Staff Organization and Functions Manual.
- Prepare summaries of medical records and other relevant data for Medical Staff Committees.
- Set the agenda, create presentation material, and record minutes for Medical Staff Committee meetings.
- Attend Medical Staff meetings to facilitate the peer review process.
- Coordinate follow‑up activities based on recommendations from the PEC and its subcommittees.
- Coordinate activities with all hospital departments involved in data collection, scheduling, and communication.
- Expedite timely and accurate triage of Medical Staff related Risk Event Notices, variance reports, patient grievances, and Amendment requests.
- Demonstrate knowledge of evidence‑based CMS and TJC clinical metrics (e.g., Core Measures, AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, Hospital Acquired Conditions).
- Report directly to the Director Practitioner Quality & Professionalism.
- Accredited BSN; licensed RN in the State of Florida.
- Minimum three years of recent acute care experience with at least two years in Performance Improvement preferred.
- Intermediate computer knowledge:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
