Phlebotomist II - Float
Location:
Naples, FL, 34104
Shift: Monday
- Friday-shifts vary 5am-4pm. Rotational Saturday 6am-11:30-12pm. EST.
Duration: 4 Months
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and represents the organization with professionalism and compassion. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection (phlebotomy), processing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate patient identification and documentation. The PSR II maintains compliance with established procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements while delivering excellent customer service in clinical and patient service settings.
Assignments may include physician offices, Patient Service Centers (PSC), or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and forensic specimen collection according to established procedures.
- Accurately label specimens and verify patient demographic information in the presence of the patient.
- Obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain required documentation and records in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and promote a positive company image.
- Follow company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety guidelines.
- Travel to multiple locations as required, sometimes with minimal notice.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA)
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required), including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- 2+ years experience in a Patient Service Center (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Strongly Preferred)
- Keyboarding and data entry experience (Required)
- Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in high-volume environments
- Ability to follow established procedures and exercise sound judgment
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and flexible scheduling
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed
- Flexible schedule required based on staffing needs
- Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office locations required
- Training location may vary based on trainer availability
