Position Summary
We are seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to lead all food and beverage operations at The Naples Players, including concessions, bar service, special events, donor functions, education-related service, and private rentals.
This is a hands-on leadership role that blends day-to-day operations with long-range planning. The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for delivering a welcoming, efficient, and financially responsible hospitality program that enhances the patron experience while supporting earned revenue goals. The role works closely with Patron Experience, Development, Marketing, Facilities, and Education teams and requires regular evening and weekend availability aligned with performance schedules and events.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee all food and beverage operations for performances, special events, donor activities, education programs, and rentals
- Maintain high standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all Florida and Collier County food safety, health, and alcohol service regulations
- Order, receive, and manage food and beverage inventory with attention to quality, freshness, and cost control
- Coordinate with Facilities staff to ensure all F&B spaces and equipment are properly maintained
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership during performances and events as needed
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and supervise part-time and hourly food and beverage staff
- Ensure all staff maintain required food handling and alcohol service certifications
- Foster a positive, customer-focused team culture aligned with The Naples Players' values
- Collaborate with Patron Experience staff to resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Develop and manage annual and seasonal food and beverage budgets
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and margins; analyze variances and adjust operations as needed
- Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale reporting, credit card batches, and deposits
- Ensure timely submission of invoices and accurate financial documentation
- Develop and execute a seasonal Food & Beverage business plan aligned with organizational revenue goals
- Partner with Development and Marketing teams to support galas, donor cultivation events, sponsorship activations, and special promotions
- Collaborate with Rentals and Events staff to grow private event and rental-related food and beverage revenue
- Build and maintain relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and community partners
- Oversee the strategic expansion of the food and beverage program beyond traditional concessions and bar service to include café-style offerings and enhanced hospitality experiences
- Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate new revenue-generating food and beverage concepts that support daytime use, education programs, rentals, and community engagement
- Participate in long-range planning for the potential development of commercial or catering kitchen space, including operational needs, staffing considerations, regulatory requirements, and financial feasibility
- Provide operational insight on space planning, workflow, equipment needs, vendor partnerships, and service models to support future growth
- Support pilot programs and phased rollouts of new initiatives while maintaining quality, scalability, and fiscal responsibility
- Serve as a building key holder and support opening and closing procedures as needed
- Attend internal meetings, planning sessions, and cross-departmental discussions
