the Role

The Front Desk Supervisor will supervise a given shift within the Front Desk, direct staff and monitor performance of their duties, and will also perform these duties on own: welcome and register hotel guests, explain the accommodations and establish credit or method of payment; check guests out, prepare and explain the bill; and respond to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and providing personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.

you will do
  • Be part of the opening team.
  • Check in guests efficiently and in a friendly manner, using guest names whenever possible. Ensure that each guest is assigned the requested room type and rate. Arrange for luggage to be delivered to the guest room and issue correct keys.
  • Check out guests at the end of stay, ascertain satisfaction, collect keys, post late charges and present the bill, and settle the bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
  • Resolve customer complaints and handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible, and assist customers with inquiries about hotel services, hours of operation, key hotel personnel, in‑house events, directions, etc.
  • Respond to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner, interacting in person and by phone.
  • Maintain a balanced bank assigned by the hotel, make change, cash checks, exchange foreign currency, and reconcile all transactions at the close of each shift.
  • Use a variety of computer systems to check guests in and out, run daily reports, and select and block rooms for arriving guests.
  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors.
  • Accept reservations, changes, and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff; answer guest calls and direct them appropriately in the absence of a Communications Operator.
Non-essential Functions
  • Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in the areas of the Bell Staff, Business Center, and lobby coverage.
  • Provide basic trouble‑shooting support for in‑room services such as Internet, TV movies, games, and Web service.
  • Work closely with Bell Staff to ensure smooth handling of guest luggage, deliveries and special requests.
What You Bring
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Minimum two years of front office or related work experience preferred; extensive knowledge of Naples and the surrounding areas.
