Position Summary

The Senior ITS Analyst is the lead technical resource for the Intelligent Transportation Systems used across WeDriveU's Collier County bus operation. This is a hands-on transit technology role focused on the systems installed on buses and the applications that connect vehicles to Dispatch and customer information channels. The analyst administers, monitors, troubleshoots, configures, and supports systems such as CAD/AVL, onboard vehicle logic units or mobile data terminals, automatic passenger counters, automated announcements, destination signs, real-time passenger information, cellular communications, and related integrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical administrator and subject-matter expert for transit ITS applications and onboard technology supporting fixed-route and, where applicable, paratransit service.

Monitor system health and resolve hardware, software, communications, configuration, and data issues affecting buses, Dispatch, passenger information, or other connected transit systems.

Administer and support CAD/AVL functions used for real-time vehicle location, schedule adherence, operator communications, fleet monitoring, detours, and service management.

Support onboard components and integrations that may include vehicle logic units, mobile data terminals, GPS/AVL equipment, automatic passenger counters, automated voice announcements, destination signs, fare equipment interfaces, camera or surveillance interfaces, and cellular/network devices.

Maintain system configuration data such as vehicles, routes, stops, blocks, runs, operators, announcements, geofences, user accounts, roles, and other transit system parameters as assigned.

Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to load and validate service changes and ensure route, stop, schedule, GTFS, announcement, and passenger-information data are accurate before implementation.

Investigate discrepancies in vehicle location, passenger counts, stop announcements, sign information, schedule adherence, and other system outputs and determine root causes.

Work directly with ITS vendors, vehicle manufacturers, Maintenance, IT, and Operations to troubleshoot issues, manage support cases, test fixes, coordinate upgrades, and document resolutions.

Perform or coordinate system testing after software updates, hardware replacements, route changes, configuration changes, or vendor releases to confirm production readiness.

Develop dashboards, reports, queries, or data extracts that support Operations, Planning, customer reporting, National Transit Database reporting, and system-performance analysis as assigned.

Maintain technical documentation, inventories, configuration records, change logs, support procedures, user guides, and system diagrams.

Manage user access and permissions for assigned transit systems in accordance with security and least-access practices.

Identify recurring failures, technology lifecycle risks, spare-parts needs, and improvement opportunities and make recommendations to management.

Provide technical training and support to dispatchers, supervisors, planners, maintenance staff, and other system users.

Participate in incident response for major ITS outages or failures and support restoration of critical transit technology during service hours.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, engineering, transportation technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Five or more years of experience supporting enterprise, fleet, transportation, or transit technology, with significant hands-on troubleshooting responsibility.

Direct experience with transit CAD/AVL or related bus ITS systems strongly preferred.

Experience supporting integrated hardware/software environments, vendor systems, cellular communications, device configuration, databases, APIs or data feeds, and production troubleshooting.

Ability to work on or around transit vehicles and participate in off-hours…
