Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring an elevated client experience and smooth daily execution. This role bridges leadership and sales, acting as a mentor to associates and a reliable second-in-command. The Assistant Manager helps maintain store standards, monitors operational procedures, and steps into the Store Manager’s role when they are off-site.

• Consistently achieve personal sales goals while coaching others to do the same.
• Lead by example in client engagement, follow-up communication, and professional presentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of merchandise, MTM offerings, promotions, and company selling techniques outlined in the Training Guide.
• Support sales associates in resolving client issues or special requests promptly and professionally.

• Open and close the store following the procedures in the Store Opening & Closing Policy, ensuring all cleaning, organization, and reporting tasks are complete.
• Oversee daily paperwork, including deposit preparation, end-of-day reconciliation, and weekly reporting to corporate.
• Assist the Store Manager in preparing and adjusting weekly employee schedules to ensure proper coverage, efficiency, and compliance with company guidelines.
• Monitor inventory accuracy by assisting with tagging, transfers, receiving, and cycle counts.
• Ensure compliance with all operational procedures for alterations, MTM, and special orders.
• Verify that backroom storage areas remain neat, labeled, and accessible; if based in Winter Park, assist with warehouse coordination as needed.

In locations without a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Administrator, the Assistant Manager assists with and oversees shipping, receiving, and transfer tasks. This includes verifying merchandise against packing slips and purchase orders, maintaining organized backroom storage, and ensuring proper documentation is submitted to corporate. The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in maintaining accuracy and compliance with company receiving procedures.

• Provide ongoing guidance and feedback to sales staff to improve salesmanship and customer service.
• Support the Store Manager with onboarding new team members and reinforcing company policies, including cleanliness standards, overtime compliance, and proper use of the ADMIN sales function in the POS system for exchanges, corrections, and employee purchases.
• Maintain awareness of staffing needs and assist with scheduling.
• Uphold accountability for shared tasks such as store tidiness, trash removal, and presentation.

• Serve as a communication link between the Store Manager, Corporate Office, and store team.
• Attend and contribute to store meetings and management calls.
• Support implementation of company initiatives, promotions, and events (e.g., trunk shows, seasonal transitions).

Clothing Consultants, Sales Assistants, and Shipping & Receiving Administrator (if applicable)
