Swiss CNC Machinist

A leading precision manufacturer specializing in orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, and complex machined components. The company uses advanced equipment including 5 axis milling, Swiss turning, and high speed machining to support production of tight-tolerance medical and industrial components. The environment is fast-paced, technology-driven, and focused on accuracy, repeatability, and high-quality output.

The Swiss CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain Swiss-style CNC machines to produce precision components. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who enjoys working with complex geometries, tight tolerances, and advanced tooling. Medical device experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measurement tools.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, feeds, speeds, and material behavior.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating Swiss-style CNC machines such as Citizen, Star, or Tsugami.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
  • Understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and material properties.
  • Experience with tight-tolerance work.
  • Ability to work in a high-precision, fast-paced environment.
  • Medical device or aerospace experience is helpful but not required.
