Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes according to production specifications and work orders.
  • Load CNC programs, adjust offsets, and verify tool paths before and during production runs.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to ensure accurate machining.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and confirm that all parts meet established quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and make necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, and setups.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep machines, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Set up and perform changeovers, including tool changes and fixture adjustments, to support varied job shop work.
  • Operate both CNC and manual mills and lathes, including Fadal and Haas mills and Haas lathes, as well as manual mills and lathes.
  • Learn and use machine functions independently, including machine run/stop, tool change, and other operational controls.
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies throughout daily operations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuous improvement goals.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of CNC machining experience in milling or turning.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds and stand for extended periods during the shift.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience with Fadal mills.
  • Experience with Haas mills.
  • Experience with Bridgeport lathes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, changeovers, tool changes, and quality inspection.
  • Comfort working in a job shop environment with varied parts and lower-volume runs compared to high-volume production.
