CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to produce precision components for high-quality manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will operate and set up CNC machines (particularly Fanuc-controlled systems), interpret engineering drawings using GD&T principles, and work within ISO 13485 compliant processes to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program (as required), and operate CNC machines (Fanuc and similar controls) to produce precision components to specification.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to verify part geometry and tolerances.
  • Perform CNC machine setup and tooling changes, including fixture installation, offsets, and cutter selection.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMM, and other precision measuring tools to ensure quality and conformance.
  • Document production and inspection results in accordance with ISO 13485 and company quality procedures; maintain traceability records.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, optimize machining parameters for efficiency and part quality, and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput and reduce scrap.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in precision machining environments.
  • Proven experience with Fanuc CNC controls and CNC machine setup.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality system requirements, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Technical diploma or certificate in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent on-the-job experience accepted.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and in team settings.
