Physicians Regional Medical Center – Pine Ridge is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to serve as a Lung Cancer Navigator
. This unique role will focus on coordinating and navigating patients through the lung cancer diagnostic and treatment continuum, ensuring timely access to advanced care and improving patient outcomes.
- Identify and navigate patients with incidental pulmonary findings requiring further evaluation.
- Manage and coordinate care for patients who may be candidates for ION robotic-assisted lung navigation bronchoscopy and other advanced diagnostic procedures.
- Order and coordinate additional diagnostic testing, including:
- PET scans
- Interventional Radiology procedures
- Laboratory testing
- Additional imaging and diagnostic studies as clinically indicated
- Facilitate downstream testing and procedures to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Coordinate referrals and navigation for post-operative patients to appropriate oncology services.
- Collaborate with pulmonology, radiology, oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Engage local cardiothoracic surgeons when patients are determined to be surgical candidates.
- Lead and coordinate the hospital's multidisciplinary tumor board.
- Educate patients and families on available treatment options and advanced cancer care services available locally.
- Serve as a patient advocate throughout the diagnostic and treatment journey.
- Maintain accurate documentation and monitor patient progress through the care continuum.

- Day schedule:
Monday - Friday - No ER or call coverage responsibilities

- Experience in oncology, pulmonology, thoracic surgery, navigation, or a related specialty preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and care coordination skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
