Overview
Key duties include supporting servers, maintaining the dining area's cleanliness, restocking supplies, and ensuring a positive guest experience by responding to their needs. This role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
ResponsibilitiesClear dirty dishes, silverware, and glasses from tables, wipe down surfaces, and reset tables with fresh linens, silverware, and condiments.
Assist servers with tasks like refilling water glasses, delivering food when needed, and communicating guest needs, such as allergies or special requests.
Keep the dining area clean by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning spills promptly, and ensuring the overall appearance of the dining room is tidy.
Replenish service stations and tables with necessary items like napkins, silverware, and condiments.
Help with setting up the dining room before opening and cleaning it at the end of the night, including tasks like stacking chairs and taking out trash.
The ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift and carry items (often up to 25–50 pounds), and perform tasks that involve bending and kneeling.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Meticulously set tables and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining area.
A friendly and polite demeanor when interacting with guests and a willingness to respond to their needs.
The ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, and sometimes stressful, environment.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as these are often the busiest times for restaurants.
