Food Expeditor / Banquet Set-Up Job Summary
The food expeditor/banquet set-up will be responsible for ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen and the front-of-house, expediting food orders to ensure timely delivery to guests. They play a key role in setting up and preparing banquet events, ensuring that all details are executed flawlessly to provide an exceptional experience for our members/guests.
Key Responsibilities Food Expeditor- Coordinate the flow of orders between the kitchen and front-of-house to ensure timely, accurate, and quality delivery of food.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to standard and meet member/guest specifications before they leave the kitchen.
- Assists the servers and server assistants as needed.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to resolve any issues with food quality, presentation, or timing.
- Organize food orders based on priority, ensuring correct order accuracy before delivering to servers.
- Ensure that all condiments, garnishes, and additional items (like sides) are included in each order.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the expediting station.
- Assist in the training of new expediting staff as needed.
- Prepare and set up banquet facilities for events, ensuring all tables, chairs, linens, and décor are arranged according to event specifications.
- Coordinate with event planners, chefs, and front-of-house staff to ensure all event details are met.
- Set up and break down food stations, buffets, or plated meals as needed for events.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of banquet areas before, during, and after events.
- Assist in stocking banquet supplies and maintaining inventory of event-related materials.
- Troubleshoot any issues during events, ensuring members' needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, banquet, or food service environment is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with others.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move items as needed.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The Food Expeditor / Banquet Set-Up will work in a dynamic, high energy dining setting. This role involves interacting directly with both members and staff and requires a proactive attitude to ensure that the dining experience runs smoothly. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
