Basic Summary
This position is responsible to ensure smooth and efficient operation of bar area by providing prompt, efficient and courteous service to members and guests and assist other personnel as needed. Contribute to the overall positive member and guest experience at the Club.
- Mix and serve alcoholic beverage and/or non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and procedures.
- Serve food to members/guests.
- Prepare end of day inventory sheets and stock requisition sheets.
- Remove garbage and/or recycling at end of shift.
- Maintain a neat and clean bar station on a continuous basis.
- Complete knowledge of menu and beverage selection to include wine list, liqueur, liquor, champagne, and beer.
- Enter sales into POS system and process member payment transactions accurately.
- Balance bank to sales report with accuracy.
Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. Associates who violate the rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Education/Experience/OtherRequirements
- One-year previous experience as a bartender.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Responsible vendor and Food Handler Certificates.
- Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other associates of the organization effectively.
- Fluent in English (read, write and speak).
- Work under pressure and handle difficult situations.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Deal with customers in a professional manner with patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Exemplary customer-service orientation and outstanding hospitality skills.
- Full and open availability to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Grasp, lift, push/pull, carry or transport up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Stay in the sun and endure hot weather conditions for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours).
- Stand and walk for length of scheduled shift.
- Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.
- Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
