MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

NOTES:

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for control of exotic plant pests using backpack and vehicle‑mounted spray equipment, ensuring herbicides are properly stored, mixed, applied, and documented. Provides information to foresters and other personnel on sprayed areas, reports new invasive plant occurrences, assists with protection of endangered and threatened species, and supports wildlife habitat management on the tract.
  • Assists in maintenance of recreation areas at Picayune Strand State Forest, enforces applicable rules and regulations, provides information to the public, and helps develop new recreation areas and facilities. Performs site and facility maintenance, landscaping, mowing, basic carpentry, electrical and mechanical repairs, and equipment maintenance on vehicles, machinery, and forestry tools.
  • Maintains the forest road system, harrows existing fire‑lines, and assists foresters with other forest management activities such as stand description, prescribed burning, reforestation, insect and disease control, ecosystem restoration, and boundary line marking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in a timely manner.
