Job Summary
As a Fire Alarm Technician reporting to the Fire Alarm Manager, you will provide inspections, installations, and service on a variety of fire alarm devices and fire suppression systems in accordance with company standards and applicable National, State, or Local codes.
Key Responsibilities- Service, install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Read and interpret fire alarm data sheets, system manuals, and blueprints.
- Coordinate installations with fire departments and manage necessary records for emergency call notification.
- Work safely, avoiding injuries, property damage, material loss, and ensure proper cleanup of installation debris.
- Achieve daily/weekly service and productivity goals.
- Serve as a mentor and share knowledge and experience with team members.
- Complete administrative duties such as service acknowledgments, NFPA 72 Record of Completion documents, and other supporting documentation.
- Maintain a fully stocked company vehicle to support efficient customer service.
- Minimum 3–5 years of related fire alarm experience in the fire protection industry or commercial customer service.
- NICET certification or equivalent training from manufacturers or institutions.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and other NFPA codes.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) as well as iPhone/iPad apps.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Strong work ethic, professional appearance, and ability to work within a team environment.
