Player Assistant​/Ranger

Reports To: Lily Williamson (Outside Services Supervisor)

The Player Assistant/Ranger plays a crucial role in ensuring an enjoyable, efficient, and well‑managed golf experience for all members and guests. This position is responsible for monitoring pace of play, upholding course policies, and providing exceptional service throughout the course.

• Monitor and maintain an acceptable pace of play.
• Serve as an information resource for members and guests.
• Provide emergency assistance when needed.
• Promote and enforce proper golf etiquette.
• Report and document any instances of golf cart misuse or course damage.
• Assist members and guests with any on‑course needs or concerns.

A) Create a friendly, welcoming, and professional atmosphere for all members and guests.

B) Enforce all club rules, including:

• Pace of play expectations
• Course usage guidelines
• Dress code compliance

C) Assist individuals experiencing mechanical issues or physical difficulties on the course.

D) Support the Outside Services team with daily operations.

E) Make verbal contact with each group to provide pace‑of‑play updates and ensure a positive experience.

F) Record turn times, finishing times, and cart numbers for all groups.

G) Address groups that fall out of position by following these enforcement steps:
Step 1: Inform the group of their position and request that they regain proper pace.

Step 2: For a second violation, a member of the Professional Staff will instruct the group to pick up their balls and advance to the next tee.

Step 3: For a third violation, the group will be asked to leave the golf course.

H) Maintain cleanliness on the course by removing litter and debris.

I) Repair divots and ball marks throughout the course to support optimal playing conditions.

As a Player Assistant/Ranger, you are often the first point of contact for members and guests. Your professionalism, communication, and service mindset help shape their overall experience. Always engage with groups in a positive, helpful manner and ensure everyone has what they need to fully enjoy their time at Quail Creek.
