Pilot I – Collier Mosquito Control District
Collier Mosquito Control District seeks a motivated and safety‑focused Pilot I to join our aviation team. The pilot will operate District aircraft for aerial mosquito control missions and other aviation activities essential to protecting public health in Collier County.
Responsibilities• Operate District aircraft as Pilot in Command (Skyvan SC‑7, MD‑500D, and Bell 407GXi) during aerial treatment missions.
• Conduct safe and efficient flight operations and mission preparation.
• Maintain accurate flight records and support compliance with FAA regulations and District safety standards.
• Assist in compliance with FAA regulations and District safety standards, and collaborate with the Chief Pilot.
Minimum Qualifications- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multi‑Engine Land Rating
- FAA Instrument Rating
- FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Valid Florida Class E Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn internal programs
- Ability to read and understand chemical labeling instructions
- FAA Commercial Pilot with Rotorcraft‑Helicopter and Airplane Multi‑Engine Land ratings
- Experience with integrated pest management practices and mosquito control operations
- Certification in the State of Florida Public Health Pest Control and Aerial Pesticide Applicator License within six months of hire
