About the RoleWe’re hiring a Laborer (DOT / Hazmat) to support paving and construction operations by operating DOT‑regulated vehicles and performing a variety of hands‑on labor tasks. This role combines CDL driving responsibilities with physical jobsite work to help keep projects running smoothly.
This is a full‑time, seasonal position.
Union membership is required within 60 days of employment.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles, including water trucks and similar equipment, to support jobsite operations
- Transport water and liquid asphalt to job sites while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Assist with pre‑seal, seal coating, milling, and general site preparation
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment around the job site
- Work alongside Operators, Flaggers, and crew members to support project progress
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and properly use required PPE
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Report safety hazards or operational issues promptly
- Maintain regular in‑person attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Frequent standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Ability to safely navigate active construction sites
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands‑on labor
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
