About the RoleWe’re hiring a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our truck fleet and paving equipment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting field crews, and keeping operations moving safely and efficiently.
This is a full‑time position with flexibility required to support operational needs.
What You’ll Do- Perform preventative maintenance on dump trucks, pavers, and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete efficient, accurate repairs
- Retrieve and repair disabled vehicles as needed
- Maintain detailed equipment and maintenance logs
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot systems
- Perform welding and burning tasks as required
- Follow all safety regulations and shop procedures
- Maintain regular in‑person attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Prolonged periods of standing and working in a shop environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing ladders
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as operational needs require
- Strong experience repairing and maintaining trucks and heavy equipment
- Knowledge of diesel engines, drive trains, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems
- Welding and burning skills preferred
- Ability to use diagnostic tools (Cummins Insight, WABCO Tool Box, Allison DOC preferred)
- Possession of mechanic’s tools
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or willingness to obtain within 12 months
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of fleet or heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred
