Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Middle bridge School is seeking candidates for the position of Residential Instructor. Join us to be part of a dynamic, vibrant, and welcoming community!
Residential Instructor:
The RI is responsible for the supervision of the dorm, one on one instruction, and guidance related to independent living and interpersonal skills. They work collaboratively with other Residential Instructors to facilitate the individual goals of the students. The RI acts as a mentor, role model, teacher, counselor, and coach in all areas of the residential program and is expected to be committed to the success of each student especially in the areas of social and emotional development.
The residential program includes opportunities to design and teach a variety of after-school elective classes ranging from athletics, arts, and cultural activities to volunteer and community service programs. Residential staff are also responsible for facilitating and overseeing weekend programming when on-duty and supervising recreational activities both on and off-campus as assigned.
The Residential Instructor is a non live-in position, however it does require that the staff reside within the dormitory periodically and during a rotation of assigned weekends. Residential Staff are required to work some assigned weekends throughout the Academic School Year. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to gain experience working with adolescents, are interested in individualized and exceptional education, teaching, counseling, and mentorship, and wish to pursue work in fields relating to education, arts, athletics, counseling, and organizational leadership.
