A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is recruiting Vessel Strike Avoidance Protected Species Observers (VSAO) for offshore squid trawl surveys off the New York coast.
NMFS PSO approval letters are required to stand watch and record protected species sightings while implementing strike avoidance measures during 24-hour offshore operations. Positions start in late August 2026 on four trips, each three days long, with twelve-hour watches.
