Position: Senior Manager – Partner Onboarding (Grape Labour)
About Bharat Intelligence

Bharat Intelligence is building India’s first AI-powered Rural Labour Operating System — organising agricultural labour into a structured, reliable, and dignified workforce.

We operate deeply in Maharashtra’s horticulture belts, starting with grapes in Nashik, where labour availability and quality directly determine farmer income and export outcomes. Our platform predicts labour demand, deploys trained teams, and guarantees execution on the ground.

Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Partner Onboarding (Grapes) will own the entire labour supply function for the grape category in Nashik.

This is a full-ownership role, responsible for ensuring that the right quality and quantity of grape-skilled labour is available, on time, across seasons — with zero dependency on ad-hoc contractors or informal systems.

You will report to the Head of Supply (HQ) and act as the single point of accountability for grape labour supply across Nashik, the surrounding tribal belt, and feeder corridors across Maharashtra and other grape-labour regions in India.

This is a managerial + execution leadership role with clear outcome ownership.

What You Will Own

1. Labour Supply Outcomes

- Build and maintain a reliable, scalable pool of grape-skilled labour (individual workers + contractors).
- Ensure peak-season fulfilment for all grape operations: pruning, training, spraying, harvesting, packing, and ancillary work.
- Be directly accountable for availability, reliability, and quality of labour on the ground.

2. Sourcing Strategy & Expansion

Design and execute sourcing across:

- Nashik grape clusters
- Tribal belts (Surgana, Peth, Trimbakeshwar, etc.)
- Other Maharashtra and pan-India grape labour corridors

Identify, onboard, and manage:

- Labour leaders / mukadams
- Contractors
- Community anchors (SHGs, NGOs, village influencers)
- Reduce over-dependence on any single corridor or supplier.

3. Workforce Quality & Readiness

Own worker vetting, onboarding, and classification:

- Skill mapping (by grape activity)
- Reliability history
- Deployment readiness

Coordinate with training partners to:

- Upskill workers
- Standardise grape-specific SOPs
- Segregate labour by quality tiers (not all labour is equal)

4. Field Team Leadership

- Build and manage a field sourcing team (cluster managers, field executives).
- Set clear targets, territories, and accountability.
- Ensure systematic village mapping, worker meetings, and conversion tracking.

5. Planning with HQ

Work closely with HQ product, ops, and planning teams to:

- Translate seasonal demand forecasts into sourcing plans
- Lock capacity ahead of peak periods
- Prevent last-minute firefighting
- Flag risks early and solve them before they hit farmers.

6. Metrics & Continuous Improvement

You will own KPIs such as:

- Active labour pool size
- Fulfilment rate
- No-show rate
- Worker repeat rate
- Cost per worker acquisition
- Labour NPS / farmer feedback

You are expected to run experiments, kill what doesn’t work, and double down on what does.

7. Compliance & Ethics

- Ensure adherence to labour laws, wage norms, safety standards, and documentation.
- Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe, unethical, or non-compliant practices.

Ideal Profile

5+ years of experience in:

- Labour supply / sourcing
- Marketplace supply ops
- Rural operations
- Agri-ops / logistics / gig workforce management
- Strong exposure to field-heavy, unstructured environments.
- Proven ability to build and manage on-ground networks at scale.
- Comfortable being accountable for outcomes — not just activity.
- Understands (or is willing to deeply learn) grape cultivation cycles and seasonality.
- Strong people leadership skills; can handle contractors, labour leaders, farmers, and internal teams.
- Data-literate: comfortable tracking KPIs and making operational decisions from them.
- Fluent in Marathi and Hindi;
English working proficiency preferred.

Why This Role Matters

This role directly determines whether Bharat Intelligence can guarantee execution — which is our moat.

If labour supply breaks, nothing else matters. You are building the backbone of the grape labour ecosystem in Maharashtra.
