In business for several decades, this large commercial and multi-unit residential Construction Company has developed into a full-service, award-winning Construction Manager, Design-Builder, and General Contractor serving New Hampshire and select projects in bordering states. The Company employs skilled commercial carpenters and laborers resulting in cost and scheduling advantages to their clients, and also has the capability to perform work with its own personnel.
TheOpportunity
The Project Superintendent will oversee all field operations and daily progress of the physical construction project. Working in partnership with the Project Manager, the Project Superintendent must assure the combination of their components results in a cohesive, quality product that is expedited in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner, meeting the Company’s standards and expectations.
Essential Functions- Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with the project contract, specifications, project manuals, approved submittals, and shop drawings.
- Interpret and implement all construction-related aspects of the contract, plans, and procedures, clearly communicating requirements to field crews.
- Obtain required permits and licenses and ensure construction contracts are executed in accordance with their terms.
- Assist the Project Manager in developing the initial project schedule and cost-effective construction plan.
- Collaborate with project staff during preconstruction to develop estimates and budgets for labor and materials.
- Implement and manage site utilization and logistics plans in accordance with Project Manager and Owner approvals.
- Plan, direct, and supervise daily construction activities, including oversight of company field staff and subcontracted labor.
- Communicate instructions and work assignments through project forepersons as appropriate.
- Perform regular inspections of work to ensure quality, compliance, and timeliness.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend or implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain project standards.
- Ensure all Company employees and subcontractors comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Monitor site conditions and personnel for safety compliance; address safety violations and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; document findings and corrective actions.
- At least four years of experience in building trade required.
- OSHA 30-hour training is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices and legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; advanced knowledge of Excel strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Blue Beam and CMiC a plus.
- Comfortable working across tablet/app‑based field tools and desktop workflows, with a strong ability to quickly adopt new technology.
- Experienced managing self‑perform crews, not just subcontractors, and comfortable handling employee supervision, accountability, and employee‑relations issues.
