The 21st Century Extended Day Program mission is to nurture intellectual curiosity and reinforce self‑confidence in our students through goal‑oriented, project‑based learning that builds practical skills and develops character. We are currently hiring educators interested in sharing their talents and experiences in the fields of STEM, Arts/Crafts, and Fitness/Health with our elementary students. Our program runs for 3 hours in the afternoon from Monday to Friday (roughly 2:30 pm–5:30 pm).
Work hours and days are flexible depending on the availability of our instructors and the programming needs of our five sites.
After school Instructors create a safe, positive environment that supports children’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. They create lesson plans for and lead thematically‑integrated enrichment activities within the broader context of larger projects that nurture a child’s love of learning and reinforce the child’s self‑confidence through skill‑building and character‑development. These activities, although not remedial in nature, should nevertheless reinforce the grade‑level math and literacy learning that occurs during the regular school day.
