Under the supervision of the City Engineer, this position performs engineering designs, project coordination and resident engineering on Public Works related projects. Job duties include issuing, monitoring and maintaining permits including sewer connections, street excavations and encumbrances, use of GIS, CADD and Asset Management software for projects, permits and general support of all functions of the Engineering Department. Performs other related duties as assigned.
This is a full‑time Unaffiliated position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 13, with a salary dependent upon experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited) plus coursework in CADD and surveying, plus minimum of 1 year relevant work experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Knowledgeable in principles of project management, cost estimation and contract administration.
- Must be proficient with computers and all software including AutoCAD and GIS necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to write technical reports; interpret, apply, and explain codes, regulations and ordinances.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
