About Autajon Packaging Boston:
Located in the greater Nashua, NH area, Autajon Packaging Boston is a full-service packaging provider specializing in traditional folding cartons as well as a wide range of innovative packaging solutions. We proudly partner with renowned brands such as Lindt, Hershey, Godiva, and Ferrero Rocher. Our facility employs approximately 100 full-time team members year-round, along with an additional 80 seasonal employees.
Conveniently located just 30 minutes from Boston, one hour from the ocean, and 90 minutes from the mountains, Nashua offers an ideal setting for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Industrial Engineer – Automation is responsible for driving process optimization, automation integration, and continuous improvement initiatives within packaging operations. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing waste, increasing throughput, and enhancing safety through the application of industrial engineering principles and automation technologies. The position works cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and external vendors to implement scalable and sustainable solutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required. Experience 3–7+ years of industrial engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably within packaging, food & beverage, consumer goods, or high-speed production environments. Experience implementing automation projects in packaging operations strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with robotics, PLC interfaces, vision systems, or material handling systems preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience with AutoCAD or other layout/design software. Knowledge of OEE tracking, time studies, and capacity modeling. Familiarity with ERP/MES systems. Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, Power BI or similar). Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable process improvements. Effective project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority, influencing cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and external vendors to drive project execution and process change.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and a bias toward action. Ability to build trust, gain buy-in, and drive accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical & Work Environment Works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and packaging equipment.
Regular floor presence required. May require occasional travel to vendors or other facilities.
