Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

The Project Engineer assists the company in meeting its objectives and goals by supporting the Project Manager, and the preconstruction and construction teams with estimating, project documentation, material procurement and selection. This will include involvement in the pre-job planning and the execution of the work as well as successful project close-out.

• Direct interaction with DECCO clients, suppliers, and vendors
• Specification review and drawing interpretation
• Prepare detailed technical submittal packages
• Assist in the preparation of estimates and proposals
• Attend project site walk-throughs
• Material and equipment procurement and delivery coordination
• Maintain construction documents as required: turnover books, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, etc.
• Change order estimating and processing
• Comply with DECCO’s construction standards and manuals

• B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, related field or 1 to 5 years of work-related experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and construction standards.
• Familiar with construction administration including proposals, estimates, submittals, and timesheets.
• Able to understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Computer skills including a knowledge of Bluebeam, CAD/BIM software, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Office-based activities but also able to move around a heavy industrial work zone
• Office-based but can include field-based assignments as required
• PPE required on project sites including gloves, hardhat, eye protection, etc.
• Team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
