This position is responsible for the transaction and shipment of goods foreign and domestic and maintaining accurate documentation on all transactions.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Must be able to update order entry system with current shipments and prepare packing lists along with C of C's with each statement.
- Maintains freight logs and air bills of lading, then prepares and delivers all proper documentation to the Accounting Department.
- Works with the Accounting Department on special orders, i.e., C.O.D. and foreign shipments.
- Fully versed in the requirements of shipment of ITAR product (customs, export licenses, commodity codes)
- Responsible for making arrangements for special pickups through various transit companies.
- Maintains an inventory of all required shipping materials.
- Prepares purchase requisitions for supplies as needed.
- Maintains and organizes shipments against SOSA and finished goods reports.
- Performs special packaging to insure delivery of a protected quality product.
- Responsible for keeping shelves stocked with various supplies at all times.
- Follows established safety procedures and reports.
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
- This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
- May be required to cross train in other departments.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related Shipping experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, multi task in a fast paced environment.
- Basic computer skills a plus
- Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel-Typing and/or Data Entry skills desired.
