Position: Registered Nurse (PACU)- Elliot 1-Day Surgery Center- Per Diem

Here patients can benefit from the latest technology and an expert team of professional nurses and physicians who provide personalized care to meet their individual needs. The staff offers preoperative assessment and education, intraoperative support services, operative/procedural care, and post‑operative/post‑procedural care. These services are provided in a safe and caring environment that is tailored to the individual patient.

About

The Job

A PACU RN provides care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. The RN is responsible for monitoring and assessing vital signs, managing pain relief medications, administering intravenous fluids, and providing emotional support to family members during recovery. The RN communicates with physicians regarding any changes in the patient’s condition and may provide education to the patient’s family about how to care for their loved one.

The RN must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment while monitoring multiple patients at once and taking appropriate action when needed.

What You’ll Do
  • Ensure that patients receive optimal postoperative care through monitoring vital signs and conducting assessments.
  • Provide comfort measures to ensure patient’s comfort as they recover from anesthesia.
  • Administer medications, pain relief, and IV fluids as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate patients on their recovery progress and answer any questions they may have.
  • Assist with discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition back home.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible for patients after surgery.
  • Document patient’s postoperative care in medical records accurately and completely.
Who You Are
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during the orientation period and maintain it during employment. ACLS preferred.
Work Schedule

Per Diem, day shift.
