Role Specifics and Benefits

As a Med Surg Tele RN, you’ll deliver high-acuity, telemetry-enhanced medical-surgical care with a focus on comprehensive assessment, timely interventions, and patient-centered education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Continuous telemetry monitoring, interpretation of rhythm strips, and rapid escalation when cardiac events are detected.
  • Management of post-operative patients, acute medical conditions, chronic disease exacerbations, IV therapies, wound care, and complex symptom management.
  • Collaboration with physicians, charge nurses, and care teams to develop and execute individualized care plans, discharge planning, and transition of care.
  • Administration of medications, careful assessment of drug interactions, and reconciliation at handoffs.
  • Patient and family education on treatment plans, self-care strategies, medication safety, and warning signs requiring follow-up.
  • Documentation with accuracy and completeness, contributing to quality metrics, performance improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.
  • Orientation and mentorship for new staff and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
