The Clinical Support Nurse assists with multiple areas of patient care within COPA. Providing expertise and support to enhance the patient’s experience.
QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the NH Board of Nursing.
- BLS Certification.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast‑paced and stressful situations.
- Excellent communication, telephone, and computer skills.
- Act as a resource for COPA’s Patient Care Coordinator department to include triage and communicate with patients directly via the patient portal, phone, or email.
- Act as a wound care resource for the practice providing direct patient care and training and assistance to the clinical staff.
- Assist patients with arrangement of peri‑op plans, ensuring home situation post‑op.
- Develop relationships with common rehab facilities to utilize and track patient stays.
- Pre‑op teaching, working with all orthopedic specialties to establish pre and post‑op protocols and patient education.
- Partner with IT and Marketing teams to provide educational resources on COPA website.
- Implement pre‑op DME process, (shoulder slings, knee braces, etc.) for in‑office distribution to pre‑op patients.
- Build on the pre‑op optimization currently in place to improve nutrition options, weight management, referrals, and home situations.
- Schedule appropriate referrals and appointments for patients pre and post‑op.
- Establish and run a quality committee for COPA. Coordinate committee meetings with our out‑patient surgery center. Hold meetings monthly or quarterly.
- Expand and maintain our current outcomes collection for quality reporting and contract payor reimbursement.
- Responsible for MIPS quality reporting, working with leaders of each department to ensure annual performance goals are met, and submit data annually.
- Work with Workers Comp team to collect and report key data.
- Oversee/run specialty group meetings to assist with standardizing and streamlining patient care.
- Active participation in AORN, and present suggestions for changes with nutrition, wound care, patient optimization, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position requires moderate to frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting, moderate keyboarding, moderate clerical work at sitting workstation, direct patient care, frequent walking, and moderate to heavy lifting.
