Nurse Practitioner

Per Diem, Monday-Friday flex in Guild Health Clinic, 9 months during academic year Travel: none

Deliver primary care to resident student clients utilizing a compassionate and respectful approach; develop therapeutic plans for both illness prevention and education; and assess actual and potential health hazards, including analysis of risky behaviors that can negatively impact health status Prescribe and dispense over-the-counter and prescription medications and, when called for, recommend changes in therapeutics Assess, diagnose and treat both acute and chronic illness and injuries;

refer students when necessary to other health care professionals, clinics, specialists, hospitals or other community agencies; and attend to students' psychological and spiritual health issues through referral to Student Affairs colleagues Order, perform, interpret, evaluate and review diagnostic studies and procedures; record findings and formulate treatment plans; and document visit notes Provide support to parents concerning their child's illness, while respecting confidentiality guidelines Serve as a resource to the campus community regarding health issues

Requirements include a master's degree in nursing, and current licenses to practice in the state of New Hampshire as both an RN and ARNP, and national certification by ANCC as a Nurse Practitioner in the family practice specialty area; current basic CPR certification; and three (3) to four (4) years experience as a nurse practitioner/provider. 4. Physical ability to bend and stoop in order to examine patients, access office files, place and retrieve documents, and to obtain medications and materials from cabinets
5. Willingness to work in office and clinic that often pose demanding conditions requiring quick clinical judgment, as well as the need to work with exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and body fluids.
