Location:

Aurora Medical Center Grafton – 975 Port Washington Rd.

Schedule:

Full‑time; PM shift 1500‑2300, Monday‑Friday, with flexibility for weekends and off‑shifts as needed.

Department: 34519 AMC Grafton – Critical Care: IU 2nd Floor ICU

Job Overview

Aurora Medical Center‑Grafton is recruiting a Supervisor, ICU Services to lead frontline teams, coordinate daily operations, manage scheduling, workflow, and resolve real‑time barriers. The role supports quality outcomes, reinforces standards, and advances hospital initiatives while fostering a respectful, team‑centered environment.

Previous ICU experience required; cardiovascular ICU experience highly preferred. Lead/charge or supervisory experience preferred.

Pay Range: $44.15 – $66.25 per hour

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides work direction to staff with clear responsibility for resource coordination to support procedures and day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth flow of patients.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to delivery of quality patient care; advocates for rights of patients and staff.
  • Facilitates communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff to optimize teamwork; coordinates physician needs and serves as liaison between medical staff and nursing staff.
  • Develops and maintains effective intra‑ and inter‑departmental relationships; facilitates positive communication with medical supply companies.
  • Evaluates quality of patient care in the specialty area through collaboration with unit and organization resource people; ensures compliance with nursing department, medical center, and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with manager to conduct ongoing process improvement.
  • Serves as clinical resource contact for patients, families, nursing staff, other health‑care members, and external agencies.
  • Develops department orientation and continuing‑education programs for all staff; teaches, guides staff, and assists with teaching programs.
  • Provides input on equipment/supply needs, renovations, and environmental issues for operating and capital equipment budgets.
  • Supports Shared Leadership functions related to Nursing Evaluation, Peer Review, Policy/Procedures, and Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Performs human‑resources responsibilities for staff: coaching on performance, completing performance reviews and staff morale; recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethical Conduct and ensures compliance of supervised employees with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Required:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Experience

Required:

  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in an inpatient nursing unit environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.



Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders and twist frequently during shifts.
  • Will be exposed to hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids; required to wear gloves, goggles, and gowns as needed.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
