Job Summary
A registered nurse (RN) executes comprehensive nursing care activities on the Geropsychiatric Unit. The RN assesses, monitors, records, and reports patient symptoms or changes in condition. Maintain accurate reports, perform mental and physical assessments, administer medication and treatments, assist patients with daily activities, and observe reactions.
Responsibilities- Manage therapeutic milieu activities including daily group sessions, education, and individual 1:1 sessions.
- Collaborate with other treatment team members to provide best possible patient care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans upon admission and ongoing with multidisciplinary team.
- Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities for patients.
- Conduct therapies in accordance with patient diagnosis and needs.
- Perform treatment interventions following physician orders (medication administration and medical treatments).
- Provide effective discharge plans and obtain accurate histories at admission.
- Document all required patient information timely and efficiently (admission paperwork, assessments, progress notes).
- Interventions, evaluations, discharge paperwork, CQI+ data, and assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards.
- Education:
2 year associate’s degree or diploma from a 3 year nursing program (required); bachelor’s degree preferred. - Valid State of New Hampshire RN license and BLS certification.
- 1 year previous nursing experience preferred.
- Medical terminology required.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
