Job Description

Position: School Nurse - RN

Location: Dr. Norman Crisp Elementary School

Reports to: Principal

Starting:  School Year

Salary: $49,000 - $100,386 per year (contractual and benefits)

• Current licensed NH Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Certified by the State Board of Education
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Three years of experience in pediatric nursing or related areas
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Prior experience with student or patient database information systems and Microsoft Office

• Care for emergencies, render first-aid, and arrange further treatment if necessary.
• Inspect children for cleanliness and communicable disease; provide mandatory follow-up.
• Contact parents to advise of children’s illness and notify the school office of releases.
• Investigate unexplained pupil absences under the direction of the Principal.
• Check immunization records for compliance with R.S.A. 200:38, and notify parents and the Principal of deficiencies.
• Arrange and perform medical screenings; update all appropriate personnel and parents.
• Coordinate and make referrals for physical exams, clinics, and screenings for families in need of assistance.
• Ensure compliance with all statutes, regulations, and policies, including medication administration.
• Maintain health, medication, clinic, and examination records; keep a daily log of activities; manage supply inventory per district and state regulations.
