Who We AreThe Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is an 18-room Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit providing family‑centered care for over 1,000 births annually. As a four‑time Magnet‑designated facility, we uphold the highest standards of nursing excellence, guided by AWHONN best practices and supported by the OBIX Perinatal Data System for continuous fetal monitoring. Staffed 24/7 by board‑certified Obstetricians and Certified Nurse Midwives, our multidisciplinary team—including RNs, LNAs, Health Unit Coordinators, lactation consultants, and pediatric and obstetric providers—delivers compassionate, expert care in a seamless environment that includes a Level II Special Care Nursery with Mass General‑affiliated Neonatologists.
We promote ongoing education and certification in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergency management to ensure safe, personalized care for every family.
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, The Birth Place (BP) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and babies during ante-, intra- and post-partum periods and includes in‑unit Cesarean and other gynecological procedures.
What You’ll Do- Assess and implement priority‑based nursing care and establish goals to meet the patient’s needs.
- Integrate patient values, best practice, and evidence into patient care.
- Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery.
- Function competently within own scope of practice.
- Utilize a communication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/or the situation.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Hold current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse.
At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience is preferred.

7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.;
Every other weekend; 36 hours weekly.
