Description:

Supports and promotes the mission and values of the organization.

Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit and carries out orders from the responsible provider.

Provides comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans for each shift.

Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes appropriate actions.

Communicates patient information to ensure continuity and safe care through bedside shift report and multidisciplinary rounds.

Maintains compliance with unit-specific competencies and requirements.

Completes all required learning modules within the designated timeframe.

Works to promote a culture of well-being within the unit.

Promotes a positive atmosphere within the department during each shift.

Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures.

Identifies and assists in the correction of patient care safety issues.

Works within a framework to promote error reporting and the adoption of safe practices.

Addresses issues through the proper chain of command.

Participates in daily unit-based safety huddles.

Stays informed about unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators.

Actively participates in quality initiatives and performance improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes.

Collaborates with nurses in various departments to leverage expertise.

Seeks opportunities to assist all team members.

Develops and implements performance goals based on self-assessment and feedback.

Ensures patient education materials are culturally competent.

Serves as a preceptor for new nurses.

Participates in survey readiness activities.

Demonstrates a practice consistent with the organization’s philosophy.

Aids in problem-solving and conflict resolution.

Effectively delegates aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel.

Collaborates in planning, supervising, and instructing nursing students and assistants.

Maintains current nursing licensure and certifications as required by the department.
