Sun - Thurs Overnights (7p - 7a)
Guaranteed Pay for 40hrs!

About the Job:

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Registered Nurse (On-Call) is readily accessible to respond to surgical emergency outside of the normal surgical schedule hours. The incumbent will care for patients aged 6 months through adulthood who require surgical/invasive interventions under one of

the various types of anesthesia. Nursing care is delivered utilizing a patient-centered approach and incorporating the Professional Practice Model. The Registered Nurse (On-Call) will provide patient centered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes. The incumbent will integrate best practices and current evidence-based practices for delivery of optimal health care; will use data to improve quality and safety; and will use informatics and technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision making.

  • Participate in analyzing errors and designing system improvements.
  • Use Electronic Medical Record information management and documentation technology to accurately and consistently plan and document patient care.

Education

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

  • Ability to achieve unit-specific competencies within designated time frames, including:
    • Safe care and handling of surgical equipment
    • Decontamination of surgical instrumentation
    • Scrubbing, gowning, and gloving techniques
    • Aseptic technique
    • Circulating general and specialty surgical cases
    • Operating room equipment setup
    • Microscope and surgical lighting systems
    • Electrosurgical units and laser technology
    • Orthopedic and specialty surgical systems
    • Specialty areas including ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Neurology, Gynecology, Genitourinary, and Robotic Surgery
