CMM Technician

Summary

Assures that products, tooling and processes produced at Orion Casting meet customer and internal requirements.

• Write programs from Customer Prints and Models that allow for completing quality checks on CMM equipment for given part numbers.
• Perform performance maintenance and qualification on equipment stylists.
• Trouble‑shoot programs as necessary to ensure accuracy of part testing.
• Analyze data and provide assessments on specific issues with parts to Engineers, as necessary.
• Conduct Capability Studies on new products as part of the PPAP process.
• Calibrate gauges as applicable (Micrometer, Go/No
  
  Go).
• Effectively communicate capability concerns with Process and Product Engineers.
• Effectively communicate with customers concerning various quality and capability concerns with their product, as applicable.
• Demonstrate proficiency in programming all software (PC‑DMIS, Zeiss, Renishaw).
• Maintain good working relationship with Engineers and Managers.
• Follow all EHS and Quality policies and procedures as set forth by the Orion Casting management systems.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required:

• Minimum education equivalent to four years of high school, plus specialized training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 19 to 23 months of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of PC‑DMIS and Zeiss software, and completion of level 1–3 training (40 hrs each).
• Ability to program and operate CMM machines including Sheffield/Cordax 1808, DCC Cordax R5‑50, DCC Endeavor, Zeiss Accura, Dura Max, Contura G2, Hexagon Metrology Advantage Global, and Renishaw Equator 300.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab statistical analysis software.
