Join a Growing Team as a Wetland Scientist! Are you passionate about protecting and restoring natural ecosystems? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Wetland Scientist to join our growing environmental team and support a diverse range of infrastructure, transportation, and land development projects throughout New England. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to play a key role in wetland delineation, permitting, ecological assessments, and environmental compliance while collaborating with engineers, planners, and environmental professionals on meaningful, environmentally responsible projects.
The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of fieldwork, technical reporting, client interaction, and regulatory coordination.
- Conduct wetland delineations, functional assessments, and ecological field investigations for a variety of infrastructure and development projects
- Support permitting efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, including Section 404 permitting, NHDES Wetlands permits, and related environmental approvals
- Perform construction monitoring and environmental compliance inspections to ensure adherence to permit requirements and environmental regulations
- Review project plans, specifications, and construction documents, including transportation and infrastructure plans
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, environmental documentation, and compliance matrices
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, contractors, and internal project teams throughout project life cycles
- Attend regulatory and client meetings and assist with project presentations and coordination efforts
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers to integrate environmental considerations into project design and execution
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
- Travel to project sites throughout New England as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources, Soil Science, Geology, Water Resources, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in environmental consulting, wetland science, ecological compliance, or related environmental services
- NH Certified Wetland Scientist (CWS) preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and New Hampshire environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Experience supporting transportation, infrastructure, or land development projects
- Experience with wetland delineation, environmental permitting, and construction compliance monitoring
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and regulatory documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and client management skills
- Ability to perform field work in varying terrain and weather conditions and lift up to 40 pounds as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- NH Certified Soil Scientist (CSS)
- OSHA certifications (including HAZWOPER)
- Wildlife monitoring, habitat assessment, or botanical survey experience
- Experience overseeing projects for NPDES Construction General Permit compliance
- Familiarity with MA, CT, and RI environmental regulations and permitting requirements
- Previous experience presenting projects in public or regulatory settings

Pay Range:$90,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
