Job Description
At Southern NH Medical Center our security team plays a crucial role in keeping everyone safe. They monitor the premises, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a calm atmosphere for patients and their families.
About the JobOur Main Campus and West Campus have security guards on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Officers provide a safe and secure patient care environment by conducting safety/security rounds, managing emergencies or crises, controlling access, and preventing crimes against people and property.
What You’ll Do- Conduct Security/Safety rounds of the facility twice during each shift.
- Document findings, identify and correct discrepancies and hazards, and test alarm systems.
- Assist in the management of aggressive or combative patients and with licensed clinical staff in the application of restraints.
- Monitor high‑risk patients awaiting disposition in the ED.
- Understand and apply the Medical Center’s “Use of Force” policy.
- Provide required documentation of security department incidents and activity.
- Describe and produce clear, concise incident reports and record them in a daily activity log.
- Facilitate the use of the emergency evacuation heliport and understand related policies.
- Use ground safety training as required.
- Act as first responder for hazardous material emergencies, conduct an immediate assessment, isolate the hazard, and activate outside resources (NPD/NFR) as needed.
- High‑school graduate (required).
- Will acquire key personal safety skills within 90 days of employment (handcuff, pepper spray, crisis intervention).
- Must complete or be able to attend the CPI training program.
- Has a valid driver’s license for mobile patrol of the facility.
- Has one to two years of related security experience.
Days – Every weekend (both Main and West Campus)
