Security Officer - Part Time

At Southern NH Medical Center our security team plays a crucial role in keeping everyone safe. They monitor the premises, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a calm atmosphere for patients and their families. Their presence ensures that people feel secure while they focus on healing, making them an important part of the hospital environment. Through their steady vigilance and approachable demeanor, they contribute to a safer, more reassuring space for everyone.

Our Main Campus and West Campus have security guards on duty 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

Our Officers provide a safe and secure patient care environment by conducting safety/security rounds, emergency/crisis management, access control and prevention of crimes against people and property.

• Conduct security/safety rounds of the facility twice during shift. Document findings, identify and correct discrepancies and hazards, and test alarm systems.
• Assist in the management of aggressive/combative patients. Assist licensed clinical staff in application of restraints. Monitor high-risk patients awaiting disposition in the ED. Understand and apply Medical Center’s “Use of Force” policy.
• Provide required documentation of security department incidents and activity. Describe and produce clear, concise reports of an incident and record them in a daily activity log.
• Facilitate use of emergency evacuation heliport and understand policies governing use. Use knowledge of ground safety training as required.
• Act as first responder for hazardous material emergencies. Conduct immediate assessment of situation, isolate hazard appropriately, and activate outside resources (NPD/NFR) as needed.

• High school graduate required.
• Must acquire key personal safety skills within 90 days of employment (handcuff, pepper spray, crisis intervention). Must have or be able to attend CPI training program.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for mobile patrol of facility.
• One to two years of related security experience.
