Come work at the best place to give and receive care! At Southern NH Medical Center, our security team plays a crucial role in keeping everyone safe. They monitor the premises, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a calm atmosphere for patients and their families.

Security guards are on duty 24‑hours a day, 7‑days a week at our Main Campus and West Campus. Officers provide a safe and secure patient care environment by conducting safety/security rounds, managing emergencies and crises, controlling access, and preventing crimes against people and property.

• Conduct security/safety rounds of the facility twice during each shift.
• Document findings, identify and correct discrepancies and hazards, and test alarm systems.
• Assist in the management of aggressive or combative patients.
• Assist licensed clinical staff in the application of restraints.
• Monitor high‑risk patients awaiting disposition in the ED.
• Apply the Medical Center’s “Use of Force” policy appropriately.
• Provide required documentation of security department incidents and activities.
• Describe and produce clear, concise incident reports and record them in a daily activity log.
• Facilitate use of the emergency evacuation heliport and understand related policies.
• Use ground safety training knowledge as required.
• Act as first responder for hazardous material emergencies, assess the situation, isolate the hazard, and activate outside resources as needed.

• High school graduate required.
• Must acquire key personal safety skills within 90 days of employment (handcuff, pepper spray, crisis intervention).
• Must have or be able to attend CPI training program.
• Valid driver’s license for mobile patrol of the facility.
• One to two years of related security experience.
