Job Overview
We are currently searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs, and provide after-warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Technicians are assigned regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Northeast Technology Center in Windsor Locks, CT.
Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Nashua, NH area. Travel is required.
Scope and Responsibilities- Proactively attain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories.
- Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.
- Train customers on machine functions.
- Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available.
- Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problems, and repairs completed, including parts installed.
- Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting (indicators, test bars, clamp force, gauges, etc.).
- Travel is required; assignments will require overnight or multi-night stays.
- 2‑year technical training in electronics, mechanical, or machine tool assembly.
- High School Diploma.
- 3–7 years of experience in Field Service.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently or in a group while completing necessary tasks.
- Familiarity with PLC.
- Hydraulic/Pneumatic circuits.
- General computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive daily basis; heavier lifting in excess of 50 lbs on a periodic basis.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Sound writing and reporting skills.
- Strong people skills.
The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $110,000.
