The Norfolk Companies is seeking a Lead Carpenter to oversee residential and light commercial projects across New England. Based from our Dorchester, MA location, you'll handle high-quality rough and finish carpentry, including cabinet, trim, and door installations, ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time, and to exact specifications. You'll lead and mentor carpenters, coordinate with designers and project managers, and serve as a professional, customer-facing representative.

Responsibilities

  • Lead rough and finish carpentry work for residential and light commercial projects.
  • Install cabinets, trim, doors, windows, and related millwork to specification.
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and measurements to lay out work accurately.
  • Supervise and mentor carpenters and helpers on-site, ensuring productivity and quality.
  • Coordinate with designers, project managers, and customers to confirm project details.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Track materials, report job status, and communicate any field issues or changes.
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and company vehicles responsibly.
  • Represent The Norfolk Companies with professional, courteous customer service.
