JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position is responsible for operating a variety of different trucks including but not limited to solid waste, bulky items, recycling and yard waste collection trucks. Duties include collecting all types of waste, performing daily and routine safety and service inspections on vehicles and ensuring vehicles are properly cleaned and maintained. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance.
The position is grade 3, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $29.20.
- Must have 6-12 months similar or related work experience
- Considerable working knowledge of streets within the City
- A thorough knowledge of hazards and safety equipment involved in the solid waste industry
- Must have a high school diploma or certified equivalent
- Must possess a valid CDL-B driver's license
